Privacy Policy

UniMax is a web app operated from Canada at getunimax.app. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use it.

If anything here is unclear, email support@getunimax.app and we will explain it.

When you create an account, we receive your email address and name from Clerk, our authentication provider. If you sign in with Google, the same fields come from your Google profile. We never see or store your password.

Everything else is what you type in: semesters, courses, assignment titles, weights, grades, due dates, course notes, study material you paste, and internship applications including company, role, city and notes.

Your interface language, so the app can show English or French. Your light or dark theme preference is kept in your browser, not on our servers.

We also record a timestamped row each time you use an AI feature, so we can enforce free plan limits. It stores which kind of action it was, never the content.

Three features send text to Google's Gemini API: syllabus import, study plan generation, and job posting extraction. The text you paste is transmitted to Google for processing, and the structured result comes back to us and is saved to your account.

Please do not paste anything into those fields that you would not want processed by a third party AI provider. Google's handling of that text is governed by Google's own terms.

Payments are processed by Stripe. Card numbers never reach our servers. We store only your Stripe customer ID and subscription ID, so the app knows whether your account is on the Pro plan.

Application data lives in a PostgreSQL database hosted by Neon in the United States. The app runs on Vercel, and DNS is managed by Cloudflare.

This means your information is stored and processed outside Canada, and may be subject to the laws of the countries where those providers operate.

We use essential cookies only. They are set by Clerk to keep you signed in. We do not run advertising cookies or third party analytics trackers.

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. When your account is deleted, we delete the account record and everything attached to it: semesters, courses, assignments, study plans, internship applications, and AI usage records.

To delete your account, email support@getunimax.app. We will remove the account record and everything attached to it.

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email support@getunimax.app and we will respond within 30 days.

We do not sell your information. We share it only with the providers needed to run the service: Clerk for accounts, Neon for the database, Vercel for hosting, Google for the AI features, Stripe for payments, and Cloudflare for DNS.

UniMax is built for university students. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will also be announced inside the app.
